On the Road with TELLC – In a BIG Way!
Heading south is the theme of what Dr. Kathleen P. King and the center of Transformation Education LLC operations will be doing “over our 2010 summer vacation”!
Dr. Kathleen P. King has accepted a full professorship in the doctoral program of Higher Education at the University of South Florida, Tampa starting in August.

After 13 years serving as a professor and program director of the MS in Adult Education and HRD at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education in New York City and including a 4 year assignment as a university administrator at the Bronx campus, Kathy is changing institutions.
Dr. King says,
The opportunity to join this prestigous higher education doctoral faculty is an exciting one to continue my focus mentoring and coaching professionals within and beyond academia. I am also very pleased at the opportunity to work with more doctoral students and apply my skills to guide them through their studies and dissertation process.
University of South Florida is an institution I have watched for some time. It is cutting edge, and remarkable in its innovation and research. I am also pleased with the warm welcome of my new colleagues. I knew a few of the professors already, but all the professors and staff are warm and collegial. It is evident that ACHE department is a learning community I will enjoy. I am quite pleased to be joining this forward-looking program, College of Education, and university.
A distinct difference for Kathy will be that while the Fordham program had been primarily staffed by one full-time staff member within a k-12 centric college of education, this higher education program is in a department of Adult, Career and Higher Education with at least 10 fulltime faculty and growing. Having colleagues from within the same field will be an exciting new experience for her.
In addition, the k-12 departments are national leaders in educational technology and the College of Education growing in distance learning. She says she is looking forward to continuing collaborations in those areas as well.
Kathy says,
“I never really expected to be moving on from Fordham, but the opportunity presented itself and the time seemed right to step into a new chapter of my career and service to students. This has been a careful decision and in looking at many openings, I believe this is a wonderful fit in many respects.”
Transformation Education LLC continues Onward!
Dr. King will continue her consulting work, keynoting and coaching from The Sunshine State. The main office of the firm will be transferred to Tampa in July, and a metro-New York City office will remain active for 9 additional months.
As always, Transformation Education LLC will continue as a virtual team of professionals and international provider of educational services. Last year alone Dr. King traveled 65,000 miles around the globe. This spring you will have to keep a careful watch on our newsletters and this space to see where her next keynote is!
