Kathleen P. King
, EdD, is  an author, speaker, educator, and researcher. Building upon her career as an academic, award-winning author of over 30 books, Kathy is now living her dream. She always wanted to write science fiction and has embarked on her intergalactic journey. Traveling, meeting new people and seeing new places have always been exciting adventures that Kathy is now bringing into her science fiction stories.

Kathy’s careers have spanned the medical field, community service, and academia – with writing interwoven throughout each step of the way. Her major areas of research and expertise include transformative learning, student engagement, instructional technology innovations, leadership, international education, faculty development, lifelong learning, and diversity. All of this experience feeds into her writing, providing a unique lens into science fiction.

In 2019, a life-changing event introduced Kathy to the world of low vision. From this perspective, she represents the needs of marginalized individuals and groups in service and with her voice.

Since 2021, Kathy and Cheryl McNeil Fisher have hosted Writing Works Wonders, a podcast by authors for authors encouraging them to explore and share their writing and their journies – while providing some tools and insights to help them on the way.

Kathy currently lives in Knoxville Tennessee, in sight of the Appalachians that have always been home to her.
